The Patchwork of Parenthood:
An Evening of Stories
Saturday, June 1, 2024
Nomad, 14 Main Street, Brunswick, ME
Everyone has a story. Share yours.
-
Dream it.
It all begins with an idea.
What moments in your pregnancy/birth/feeding/infant parenting journey stick with you?
What stories have you told your friends and family? Maybe more than once?
Think about a time when you:
—did something you never thought you’d do
—discovered something about yourself
—felt BIG emotions
—made a tough choice for the right (or wrong) reason
—had a moment when everything came into focus
—realized you were stronger than you thought
-
Write it.
Now, start writing. All you need to do is write down the general idea of your story. It doesn't have to be perfect or final, just an idea of what your story is to tell.
Selected storytellers will tell their story on stage in 10 minutes. These six finalists will have 6 weeks to revise and finalize their on-stage story before the big event at Nomad in Bruswick on June 1st. They will receive guidance on the final writing and sharing of stories including 1 hour of writing support from a professional writer, if desired.
Finalists will be well supported throughout this process. They’ll connect with the other finalists soon after being selected and attend a rehearsal before the event. We’ll be with you the whole way!
-
Share it.
Write your story pitch in 250 words (or less), or record a 2-minute audio recording of your story and submit it by clicking here or on the button below.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: MARCH 23rd.
We will be in touch by the week of April 3rd with our finalist selection.
HAVE FUN and GOOD LUCK!
